LISA SUTTER - COUNCILMEMBER - PLACE 7
I want to thank everyone for allowing me to represent you as your Council Member.
In my six years on council we worked hard to improve our Community and to make Carrollton a destination.
In 2012 we were rated #1 by the Dallas Business Journal for having the largest Economic Development Agency in the Metroplex with $356.7 million in deals and in 2013 Carrollton had $313.8 million in deals with a ranking of 4th. Over the last several years the City has been nominated and recognized for other great achievements by National Publications and Organizations, in addition to strong financial transparency and top bond ratings.
I look forward to the future and seeing the continued growth and prosperity for our city and its citizens.

May 2015
It has been my honor and a great privilege to serve the citizens of Carrollton for the last 6 years. It seems like only yesterday that Jeff, Kevin and I were campaigning without any real idea of what we would be facing.
The three of us were elected in May 2009 and within months our world was rocked! Budget deficits, employee hiring freezes, staffing shortages – one of the worst economic downturns in our lifetime complicated every issue brought before us.
One common thread bound us together during those difficult first years - We all retained hope of accomplishing positive things; we all had similar goals and each of us had to develop a great amount of patience.
Then in 2010, CouncilMember Matthew Marchant was elected mayor. His strong leadership and business acumen guided us through those hard times and because of his ingenious approach to challenges, our hopes and dreams of moving Carrollton forward did not die on a drawing board, but instead came into being. For that, on behalf of myself and my fellow citizens, I thank you Mayor Marchant!
I want to thank the dedicated and hardworking staff that supports the citizens, city and the elected officials. We have been very fortunate to have the guidance of one of the best City Managers in the country, Leonard Martin!
Without Leonard, Marc Guy, Bob Scott and Erin Rhinehart directing a no-nonsense approach to city business, we could be one of the thousands of cities around the country, raising taxes, filing bankruptcy or struggling to stay afloat. Instead Carrollton is on solid financial footing and is looking aggressively to the future.
Along with the top city executives I just mentioned, I would also like to extend my thanks to the Management Team and all the other employees - without their commitment and buy in to the goals and tasks at hand, we would not have enjoyed the success we have.
I commend each and every one for a JOB WELL DONE.
I would like to thank my fellow Council members for your hard work and dedication to the City and a special thanks to my family and friends who have always been there for me. I love you all dearly.
In closing, Carrollton is a wonderfully diverse city. This is our home and these are all our families. As I depart, I would like to leave the current and new council members with this thought: It is important in your endeavors to think constantly of the future, to not leave anyone behind, and to strive for fairness and consistency for our citizens and our businesses.
Each of you is an asset to our city and I look forward to hearing about your future successes!
Thank you!
