Background and Education
Council Member Sutter has lived in Carrollton since 1978 and is a Native Texan. She grew up in Famers Branch and North Dallas, attending C-FBISD and DISD schools. Lisa graduated from W. T. White High School in 1976 and attended Brookhaven and El Centro Community Colleges.
Public Service
Lisa was initially elected to the Carrollton City Council in 2009 and was re-elected in 2012. She served as both Deputy Mayor Pro-Tem (2010-2011) and Mayor Pro-Tem (2011-2012). Lisa was chair of the Audit/Finance Sub-Committee, member of the Transit Orient Development Committee (TOD), member of the Landfill Committee, representative to the Trinity River Authority Advisory Committee and former Chair of the Judicial Committee. Prior to her election to the Carrollton City Council, Lisa chaired the Capital Improvements Project Advisory Commission from 2005 to 2009 and was Treasurer of the 2007 Carrollton Bond Election Citizens’ Committee and supported the 2013 Bond Election Citizens' Committee.
In addition to her city council duties, Lisa has served on the Education Adequacy Committee working for changes to Robin Hood through Legislation in 2001 - 2003, has been an officer of the A.W. Perry Homestead Museum Society since 2008, PAC Treasurer for the Dallas Downtown Republican Women’s Club since 2007. Lisa has been a member of the Navy League of the United States – Dallas Council since 1997 and she served as an Executive Board Member of the C-FB Soccer Association for more than 20 years and recently appointed as a Director of the Metroplex Hospital Authority.
Professional and Personal
Councilmember Sutter works for Stock and Option Solutions, Inc. as a Consultant to public and private companies managing their corporate stock plans and related financial reporting including SEC reporting of stock compensation matters. Previous public companies she has worked for in the same capacity include Fluor Corporation, U.S. Concrete, MetroPCS and Allegiance Telecom. Lisa and her husband, John, have been married for 38 years and have two daughters, ages 37 and 39, and two grandchildren, ages 15 and 11.
